2017 Market Update

The numbers are in! The below table shows the 2017 year over year sales growth in East Bay markets. Because Oakland has a big variety of neighborhoods - I’ve included the area Montclair to give you a sense of how nuanced real estate markets are. I have also used median price instead of average because looking at averages tend to include extreme outliers.

It looks like certain cities have gone through slightly bigger growth spurts such as Alameda and El Cerrito. All in all, the East Bay market has continued to show growth for 7 straight years.  It's certainly hard to know what 2018 will bear -- see next section to get an quicker snapshot of housing via --  "months of inventory".
